Fall: Time for Candy Apple!

I am in love with my new "Candy Apple" lipstick by Yves Saint Laurent. It is from their Sheer Candy line which has beautiful colors (that also taste delicious).  I am very picky about lipstick because I cannot stand when I put lipstick on and it makes my lips feel dry or stiff.  This one from YSL is so smooth and moisturizing, while also giving just the right amount of shine!

I wore it with a red dress and thought it complimented my red nails well! Check it out my look in the picture below, and be sure to sample some at your earliest opportunity-- or just go ahead and order some online :)

A Tip-Topshop Weekend

This past weekend was a great one because one of my very best friends came to visit! It was so nice to see her for a few days. We had some delicious meals, great laughs, and she got me addicted to the show Friday Night Lights.

Perhaps most notably, she permitted me to borrow her amazing blue pleated skirt with a sheer panel from Topshop.
Growing up my whole life in North Carolina, I only recently had the opportunity to experience a Topshop store in person when I spent this last summer working in New York City.  Based in the UK, this label presents a diverse grouping of edgy, casual, and upscale clothing in one place.  I find myself liking a lot of their clothes, but have not made many purchases from them because of some of the higher price tags.

I paired the skirt with a simple white tank from J.Crew and ankle booties from H&M.
Like the look? Dislike it? Let me know! And don't forget to check out the Topshop store online for lots of other fabulous peices!

Get Organized

I am obsessed with my Expedit bookshelves from Ikea. They come in a fun white laquered finish and provide the perfect place for me to store/ display some of my favorite shoes, handbags, and jewelry. I also use the white file boxes in the bottom row to hide away old textbooks, important papers, and other visually unappealing items.
If you are in search of functional, cost effective, and stylish storage, check out the Expedit series online or in an Ikea near you!

Have a fabulous weekend

The End of Summer & Elaine Turner

Summer is my favorite time of the year, and I am always sad to see it go.  Every Summer I get so excited to wear all my flowy dresses, colorful accessories, and most of all : fun shoes.

On a trip to Houston TX in July, I was lucky enough to discover the amazing designer Elaine Turner. As soon as I walked into her store with my mom, we were both hooked. All of her accessories are amazing, but what drew me in most were her shoes. Ever since I can remember I have always been shoe-obsessed. Elaine's shoes are not only beautiful, but amazingly comfortable. I have never loved a shoe brand more, and am so excited to see  shop  her upcoming collections!

These are the Arial Wedges, no longer available in the pink I have, but still available in the cute Batik Print (and on Sale!).
These beautiful cork wedges are no longer available, but a Similar pair is on sale.

My wish list:

Fun accessories like the ones above are what make me happy to welcome Fall!
Goodbye Summer!

Wear Your Faith on Your Wrist

Today I wore one of my favorite bracelets. One of the best things about accessories is that they can make a powerful statement with minimal effort. Personally, my most cherished pieces are ones that I feel say something about my personaltiy. This leather bracelet from Good Works Make a Difference is important to me for that very reason.

The verse embossed on this leather wrap bracelet is "I can do all things through Him who gives me strength" Philippians 4: 13.

Whenever I look down at this bracelet, it gives me hope and brightens my day, reminding me to stay calm, worry less, and try hard. Check out their website if you like the style- there are lots of options (secular too)!

I hope you had a happy Monday!
